In April of 2025, I had the honor of photographing a beautiful wedding for Ruby & Elvis at Sweeney Barn, one of Northern Virginia’s most unique and charming wedding venues. Even though the rain poured all day, the celebration couldn’t have been more joyful...and Sweeney Barn’s warm, inviting spaces provided the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable celebration.
The venue
Located in Manassas, Virginia, Sweeney Barn is known for its rustic-meets-modern style. With soaring wood beams, twinkling market lights, and a blend of historic charm and contemporary elegance, it’s a venue that shines in every season rain or shine. One of the best things about Sweeney Barn is how versatile it is, even when the weather doesn’t cooperate, the indoor spaces are just as stunning as the outdoor areas. This April wedding was proof that with the right setting (and the right people), a rainy wedding day can still be absolutely magical.
