Burn the Ballroom IGNITES The Tally Ho Theater - Leesburg VA

Before each show, I do my research on the artist so I can know what type of show it will be; such as the songs, lights, energy of the band etc. I was immediately blown away with how good these guys are! Let me first tell you a little about them.

Burn the Ballroom is a rock project that originated in the Washington DC metro area, now operating between DC and Nashville. The band consists of Lead singer and guitarist Adriel Genet with Jack Ivins on drums, Tuomas Easton on keytar, and Josh Finks on bass.

The band mixes elements of anthem, rock, punk, alternative, and pop music. They have toured extensively, performing in the Balkans, Central Asia, West Africa, North Africa, the Middle East, Russia, Asia, Europe, and throughout the USA. Notably, Burn the Ballroom is the first rock band to collaborate with the US State Department’s American Music Abroad initiative, representing American rock music worldwide—a program that began with jazz legends Louis Armstrong and Dizzy Gillespie. Their show was a testament to their international acclaim and musical versatility.

Their show at Tally Ho Theater in Leesburg, Virginia started out them playing one of my personal favorites, "Witch". This was an immediate crowd pleaser and set the tone for the rest of the night. This was followed by some more bangers like "Watchers", "Broken Dove", and their newest release of an excellent rendition of, "American Girl". They finished out this part of the show with arguably their most popular song, "Kiss Me You Animal". Next, with Adriel on acoustic and Tuomas on the keyboard, the duo performed their popular song, "Crazy". This intimate acoustic session was a crowd pleaser for sure.

With the lights back on and the band back on stage, they played some more of their songs such as, "Goddess of the Rain", "Still", "Psychopath", and finished out this portion of the show with "Whisper". They left the stage but the crowd wanted more. The band returned to play one of their newest singles, "Story of the End" and then finished the show with a cover of, "The Show Must Go On".

To say this was a great show would be an understatement. I have been to a lot of shows in my lifetime and this by far was one of the best. If you ever get the chance to see Burn the Ballroom live....do it, it will be a night to remember.
